Plastic Surgery

"Mammoplasty is one of the most common plastic surgeries in women." Mammoplasty can be summarized as enhancing the appearance of breasts in proportion with the person's whole body. The problem to be intervened can occur in a wide range such as the smallness, sagging, size, developmental deformities of the breast and even a retracted nipple. Breast aesthetics makes a significant contribution to the quality of life both physically and psychologically.

Breast aesthetics should be performed by experienced specialists and in equipped centers. Post-operative follow-up is of great importance in terms of problems that may occur after surgery. Aesthetic operations that are performed in inadequately equipped centers, in inappropriate conditions and by unqualified specialists can cause serious health problems.

Breast augmentation surgeries are among the most performed surgeries in breast aesthetics. As the person's own tissue is used in the augmentation process performed with adipose tissue, foreign substances such as prostheses are avoided, however over time, a loss of 40-50% of the fat placed can occur.

It is used as the most preferred method in breast augmentation since the breast prosthesis is close to the breast tissue in structure and it easily and reliably closes the desired volume deficiency.

General Method of Breast Reduction

Breast reduction surgery is the removal of sagging skin-mammary gland tissue from the breast and shaping the remaining breast in a more upright and aesthetically improved condition.

Due to factors such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, and gravity, loss of volume and sagging of the breasts can occur over the years. As the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts also lose their shape and lose their former fullness. In addition, enlargement is seen in the dark-colored skin around the nipple. Breast lift operations can be applied together with breast reduction or breast augmentation operations to solve all these problems. As a matter of fact, breast lift surgery is among the most frequently performed operations in breast aesthetics. Mammoplasty can be summarized as enhancing the appearance of breasts in proportion with the person's whole body. The problem to be intervened can occur in a wide range such as the smallness, sagging, size, developmental deformities of the breast and even a retracted nipple. Breast aesthetics makes a significant contribution to the quality of life both physically and psychologically.

Breast lift surgeries take 2-3 hours and are performed under general anesthesia. During the procedure, both volume loss and sagging are eliminated and the volume is increased with the prosthesis. In addition, the dark-colored skin around the nipple is also reduced in size. If the volume of the breast tissue is sufficient, it is sufficient to shape the breast and lift it.

The degree of sagging is also very important for the methods to be selected in breast lift.

  1. Degree-Slight sagging: The nipple is at or slightly below the inframammary fold, but above the lower mammary pole. The nipple is usually forward facing.
  2. Degree - Moderate level saggingThe nipple is more than 1 cm below the inframammary crease, but there is a little lower mammary pole under the nipple. The nipple is slightly downward.
  3. Degree-Advanced level sagging: The nipple is far below the inframammary fold and there is breast tissue underneath, the tip of the breast is below. The nipple is completely downward.

Pseudoptosis: The nipple is above the inframammary fold, but there is sagging in the lower pole of the breast and it has descended below the inframammary fold.

The aim of breast lift surgery is to raise the nipple to the desired level, remove excess breast skin, and provide a better aesthetic appearance of the breast in a comfortable way. According to the degree of deformation and sagging of the breast different surgical methods are applied. Depending on the chosen method, scars may remain on the breast skin. These scars can be on the nipple, and in the shape of a lollipop or vertical, and an inverted T or J-shaped. The aim is to perform the most appropriate surgery with the least scar appearance.

In order to better shape the body lines, liposuction, which removes fat resistant to sports and diet, is usually applied to certain areas such as the waist, hips, belly, inner legs and jowl. The increase in obesity with the widespread use of a sedentary lifestyle in recent years has led to an increased interest in liposuction surgeries. In the classical sense, liposuction is defined as the surgical removal of subcutaneous fat deposits using thin tubes (cannulas) by vacuum. Today, there are liposuction applications made with different techniques. The choice of method is carried out according to the patient's characteristics and the doctor's foresight.

“Liposuction” is the shaping of the body by breaking and pulling the fat tissues that resist exercise and diet and cause regional deformity with special methods.

Abdominoplasty or correction surgeries performed to eliminate deformities in the abdominal region are preferred especially for the removal of sagging after birth with obesity surgery. Although it does not occur after obesity surgery or births, those who are disturbed by deformation in the abdomen can achieve a more aesthetic appearance with tummy tuck surgery. The deformity in the abdomen, which is preferred by men due to aesthetic concerns and can be corrected by tummy tuck surgery, which is called "abdominoplasty" in medical language, is mainly caused by excess skin and subcutaneous tissue. Weight loss, loose abdominal muscles and intra-abdominal fat after more than one pregnancy and obesity can cause sagging in the abdomen.

During pregnancy, skin tissue and abdominal muscles are stretched beyond the elasticity level of the tissues. Rectus diastasis may also occur due to the loosening of the membrane that keeps the rectus muscles together in the middle, which enables the forward movement of the trunk and is located on both sides of the abdomen from top to bottom. Even if post-pregnancy exercises are performed and the weight gained during pregnancy is regained, it may not always be possible to restore the loosened skin and recover the abdomen.

Another important cause of sagging is excessive weight gain. Excess weight loss by diet or stomach reduction operations causes loosening of the abdominal wall and excess skin tissue. In addition, deformities that occur after abdominal surgery are among the less common causes of sagging. Incision scars, which occur as a result of cesarean section, especially with gallbladder, intestine or stomach surgeries, can cause deformities in the abdomen. Abdominoplasty is performed to remove sagging or full abdominal fat and excess loose skin and to tighten loosened abdominal muscles.
